Saharan Crossroads : Views from the Center / 2013 - Adrar (Algeria)

The third international conference “Saharan Crossroads : Views from the Center” is planned to be held in Adrar, Algeria in summer 2013. It is hoped that it will be co-organized by the National Centre for Research in Cultural and Social Anthropology and hosted by the Université Africaine Ahmed Draïa d’Adrar. The theme of this conference is the circulation of ideas through manuscripts, print culture and new media. It is about the intellectual, religious and political currents sustained through exchanges among Africans connected by way of the Saharan caravan trade.
